FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Authorities in Frederick County have dismissed charges against a 13-year-old boy who was accused of a Fourth of July shooting that left another teen injured.
The Frederick News Post reports Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says the charges were dismissed Tuesday after an investigation called two eyewitness accounts into question.
The 15-year-old girl injured in the shooting was walking on Sanger Avenue after watching fireworks when she was struck in the leg by a bullet.
The Associated Press does not identify juveniles who are accused of crimes.
Two adults charged in connection with the shooting have cases pending.
